Sri Satyanarayana Swamy Vrath(Telugu)

The Satyanarayan Puja is a ritual performed by Hindus on any major occasion like marriage, house warming ceremony etc.

The Satyanarayana Puja is usually done on the Purnima(the day of the full moon). It is also done during times of achievements as an offering to the Lord and on special occasions includes marriage, graduation, new job, and the purchase of a new home etc. Generally this Puja is performed by the couples.

To perform this Puja following materials are needed:

1) 5 Coconut
2) Turmeric
3) Kumkum Powder
4) Flowers
5) Garlands
6) Sandal wood Powder
7) Incense sticks
8) Camphor
9) 100 betel leaves
10) Betel Nuts
11) 50 Dry Dates
12) 2 Green Coconuts
13) Bananas
14) Akshintalu (Rice Grains with kumkum powder)
15) Mango Leaves
16) 5 Cups of Rice (For Ganesha)
17) 5 Cups of Rice (For Mantapam)
18) Satyanarayana Swami Photo
19) Depaalu
20) Ghee
21) Oil
22) Match Box
23) Kalisham (Small Silver/Copper Mug to keep the coconut)
24) A mixture of Cow milk, curd, honey, sugar or Jaggrey, ghee for panchamrita
25) Cotton Vattulu for Oil/Ghee Lamps
